None at all. Origano carries no ads, no affiliate links and no product recommendations, on either the Free plan or the Pro plan. Nothing you see in the application is paid for by a third party. Pro subscriptions are what fund the development and the hosting, which is what makes it possible to offer a real free plan instead of a 14 day trial. Your recipes and your personal data are never shared with an advertiser.
Absolutely! Just paste any recipe URL and Origano will automatically import the title, ingredients, and steps. You can also upload a photo of a physical cookbook page and let Origano extract the recipe for you.
You select which recipe books to draw from and set your preferences. Origano picks one recipe per meal type for each day of the week based on your criteria. You can regenerate individual entries or block specific slots. You can then generate a complete grocery list from your menu in one click.
After generating your grocery list from a weekly menu, click "Remove common items" and Origano's AI analyzes your list to identify pantry staples you most likely already have at home: salt, pepper, olive oil, flour, and more. Yes! Pro subscribers can convert any recipe between metric (ml, g, kg) and US measurements (cups, tablespoons, oz) directly from the recipe page. Origano's AI automatically detects the current measurement system and offers to convert to the opposite one. All quantities are updated in place. Exclusive to Pro subscribers.
Yes, for Pro subscribers. When you create a recipe, whatever the method, Origano's AI compares it against the categories you created and files it automatically when one of them is a clear match. If nothing really matches, the recipe stays uncategorized rather than being filed in the wrong place. You can untick the option at creation time if you would rather sort recipes yourself. Pro subscribers only.
Yes, on every plan, the free one included. On a recipe page, press "Read aloud": Origano reads the steps one at a time, highlights the one you are on and waits for you to tap Next, or reads straight through if you prefer. You can include the ingredient list, change the speed, go back or repeat a step, and the screen stays on while it reads. The voice follows the language of the recipe, French or English. There is nothing to install. It does not listen for voice commands: one tap on the screen moves to the next step.
